Book Release - Being NBN

Book Release - Being NBN

The official launch of a new book authored by our own fellow alumnus, Pradeep Nair.

Being NBN is a compilation of reminiscences about N.B. Nair Sir, a former Chemistry master who also played a significant role in the founding of the Old Boys Association way back in 1969.

The book is about the unique bonding he had with his students and colleagues, who have contributed heartfelt tributes, rare anecdotes and vintage photographs to the book.

The contributions capture the personality of the polymath that NBN Sir was, a man who was just as comfortable discussing the chemical theories of Linus Pauling as the prose of Ernest Hemingway, all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to his students.

Book Donation

Book Donation

During our reunion day, Prabhasudhan (Roll No: 3577, Batch of 2004) is donating 10 complimentary copies of his thought-provoking new book, Greedy Primates: How Our Primitive Instincts Are Running—and Ruining—the Modern World to the School Library

In Greedy Primates, Prabhasudhan explores why humans so often act against their own best interests. Drawing on evolutionary biology, psychology, and neuroscience, the book reveals how ancient survival instincts—like status-seeking, short-term thinking, tribalism, and digital addiction—influence our modern decisions. Rather than giving easy answers, it challenges readers to think critically and become more self-aware.

Empowering Our Students

Prabhasudhan is donating these copies to the school library to equip senior school students with an essential toolkit for adulthood. The book is designed to help students build:

  • Self-Awareness: Understanding peer pressure, status-seeking, and social influence.
  • Digital Balance: Navigating social media and technology mindfully.
  • Critical Thinking: Applying a scientific approach to personal and social challenges.
  • Leadership & Empathy: Developing emotional intelligence and stronger decision-making skills.
